Artist's Statement
Capturing people's stories and relationships in illustration and book is very exciting for me. My work is collaborative so I can only take partial credit
for the amazing fact that each book, card, etc. has the potential to be transforming.
Let me give you one example. I just finished a book for a 70th birthday from
a daughter to her mother. The daughter told me that her mother had been looking back on her life and feeling some sadness and regret. After receiving her book, the mother not only has been bursting out in spontaneous laughter daily as she remembers certain drawings but as her daughter writes, "It is
a great reminder that her life was not as bad as she has been feeling. In fact, she must now admit it has been an amazing life."
